Red or Green?

Mi Via is about making choices. The symbol of the red and green chilies are often used in Mi Via to illustrate participants being able to make choices about their services and supports.

UNM Center for Development and Disability (CDD) Mi Via Consultants program provides consultant services for Mi Via participants of all ages as they self-direct their plan for services and budget. Our Mi Via Consultants are experienced, knowledgeable, and responsive. They are uniquely connected to other CDD resources and programs, including the Information Network and Library, as well as community agencies and local resources. If you, or someone you know, is considering moving to the Mi Via Waiver or looking for a Mi Via consultant agency, consider selecting UNM Center for Development and Disability Mi Via Consultants.

Our Mi Via Consultants work with participants to:

  • Clearly explain the Mi Via process
  • Listen to the needs, find options, and help participants make informed decisions
  • Provide guidance, support and assistance as participants develop and implement their plan and budget
  • Teach participants how to use the computer systems and complete paperwork
  • Troubleshoot any issues that may come up with the participant

The UNM CDD Mi Via Consultants program works in accordance with the mission of the CDD, which is the full inclusion of people with disabilities and their families in their community by engaging individuals in making life choices, partnering with communities to build resources, and improving systems of care.
